Mastaglide is a premixed heavyweight compound for final coating plasterboard joints and fastener heads. It is suitable for both hand troweling and mechanical tools, and can be used over Mastabase and Mastalongset bedding cements.

Mastaglide has good body, and is particularly suited for application with mechanical tools in larger projects. It is easy to trowel, gliding over the joint with little effort.

Quick drying means less waiting before sanding, with sufficient time available for fine edges when feathering. It has good resistance to cracking in internal angles.

Light in colour when first applied, but the colour changes as it dries. Sand only when the joints are completely dry.

Applications:

  • Ready to use for hand trowelling. Add clean tap water if needed for use with mechanical tools.
  • Maintain a minimum 10degC working temperature during application and drying.
  • Sand with 180 to 220 grit sand paper.
  • A three coat paint system must be used in accordance with AS/NZS 2311. This consists of a sealer undercoat and two coats of paint, preferably roller applied.

Benefits:

  • Smooth trowelling
  • Great sanding
  • Low shrinkage
  • Easy to trowel
  • Quick drying
  • Good resistance to cracking in internal angles
