Siniat Watershield is a water-resistant plasterboard for bathrooms, laundries and toilets, giving tiles a solid base in damp rooms. Choose 10mm or 13mm sheets. Need fire resistance as well? Siniat Multishield combines the fire protection of Fireshield with the moisture resistance of Watershield in one board, in 13mm or 16mm. Water-resistant isn’t waterproof, so shower and other wet zones still need a waterproofing membrane. Order before 10am for same-day pickup in Brisbane or Melbourne, or get delivery to site.

Can I use standard plasterboard in a bathroom?
No. Standard board absorbs moisture and breaks down in humid or wet rooms. Use a water-resistant board like Siniat Watershield in bathrooms, laundries and toilets, and waterproof wet zones as AS 3740 requires.

Is wet area plasterboard waterproof?
No, it’s water-resistant. It resists moisture absorption but doesn’t replace the waterproofing membrane required in wet zones. Always apply the membrane before tiling.

Should I use 10mm or 13mm?
10mm is the usual residential thickness. 13mm is stiffer and suits walls where you want a more solid feel or where plans specify it. Check your plans and framing spacing.

What’s the difference between Watershield and Multishield?
Watershield is for moisture resistance only. Multishield adds fire protection, so it suits wet areas that also need an FRL, such as bathrooms in units with fire-rated walls. If your plans don’t call for a fire rating, Watershield is the simpler choice.
