Siniat Createx is perforated, sound-absorbing plasterboard that reduces echo and reverberation inside a room. It’s 12.5mm thick and 1200mm wide, with V-edges on all four sides for a seamless jointed finish, and comes in four patterns: Round R8/18, Round R12/25, Cube C12/25 and Dynamic D8-12. Siniat rates absorption (αw/NRC) from 0.35 to 0.9 depending on pattern and ceiling build-up. Createx absorbs sound within a room; to block noise passing between rooms, use Siniat Soundshield.
Createx includes CAPT’AIR® technology. Siniat states it removes up to 80% of formaldehyde from indoor air
Applications:
- Ideal for airports, shopping centres, and conference halls where noise control is a must.
- Perfect for schools and hospitals to keep the air clean and the rooms quiet.
- Great for home theatres and large, open-plan living areas with hard flooring.
Installation:
Fix to Siniat Wide Face Furring Channel with matching clips at 400mm maximum centres and joint the V-edges with Siniat Masta Tape-In.
| Pattern | Holes | Open area | Sheet size (12.5mm thick) | Approx. weight/sheet* | Absorption αw / NRC range** |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Round R8/18 | 8mm round | 14.3% | 1200 x 1988mm | ~23.9kg | 0.7–0.85 |
| Round R12/25 | 12mm round | 18.2% | 1200 x 2000mm | ~24.0kg | 0.7–0.85 |
| Cube C12/25 | 12mm square | 23.1% | 1200 x 2000mm | ~24.0kg | 0.75–0.9 |

Q: How thick is Createx?
A: 12.5mm. Boards are 1200mm wide and 1988–2000mm long.
Q: How heavy is a sheet?
A: Siniat gives about 10 kg/m², so roughly 24kg per sheet. Plan on two people or a lifter.
Q: Does it block noise between rooms?
A: No. It absorbs sound inside the room. For privacy between rooms use a sound-blocking board such as Soundshield with acoustic insulation.
Q: Which pattern absorbs the most sound?
A: Cube C12/25 has the highest range (αw/NRC 0.75–0.9), followed by the round patterns (0.7–0.85). Results depend on cavity depth and insulation.
Q: Do I need insulation above it?
A: Absorption improves with insulation in the cavity, especially for D8-12. Siniat’s tests used 50–75mm Pink® Partition batts, so check any alternative against those results.
Q: Does it reduce formaldehyde?
A: Siniat states its CAPT’AIR® technology removes up to 80% of formaldehyde from indoor air. A polymer in the board reacts with formaldehyde to form a compound absorbed back into the board.
