The Gib X-block Joint Compound is a critical component of the GIB X-Block system, specifically engineered to provide certified X-ray radiation protection for medical and dental facilities. This unique, lead-free jointing solution ensures the continuity of radiation shielding across wall and ceiling joints.
Applications:
- Used together with GIB X-Block plasterboard in the GIB X-Block system.
- The use of Siniat paper tape is recommended.
- Fill any gaps between sheets, as well as the recess joints on every layer of board in the system.
- For the face layer of the X-Block system, use X-Block jointing compound for bedding paper tape and second coating.
- Fill any other gaps and cover all face layer fastener heads with X-Block jointing compound.
- Allow to dry completely between coats.
- High level of shrinkage for a denser joint.
- Allow each coat to dry properly before application of the next coat
- Mastalite, Mastaline or Mastaglide may be used for the finishing coat.
